About the Blog
This blog started as a food blog back in the early 2000s when blogs were a thing. Friends began referring friends to me for advice on where to eat around town. It seemed that every week I was writing a lengthy email telling someone about my favorite spots. I began saving these as templates, and finally someone suggested I turn my ideas into a blog. For a while, I had a nationally syndicated blog and was invited to dine all over Atlanta and beyond. This was WAY before the days of Instagram influencers and YouTube accounts. I liked the simplicity of me and my camera (my phone still didn’t take great pictures). Since then, I have had so much fun sharing my food and experiences with my readers. Having my daughter in 2014 certainly slowed my restaurant eating and travel for a while, but as she grew, we began including her in our explorations! Today I continue to share about food, culture, and travel, with an eye on making travel possible and engaging for families. I focus on cultural experiences, not just hitting the hot destinations in each city.
I love living in a city that has evolved to become so focused on food. I think it has been an amazing transition in our city over the past 30 years, from having only one or two great restaurants to becoming a real hub for original and gourmet cuisine. There is so much out there to take advantage of, from the fantastic ethnic foods available along Buford Hwy and beyond to the Michelin-star dining and everything in between. Atlanta is a true food destination. I come from a family where food is important. To me, there is nothing more important than sharing with friends. I hope you will join me as I share some of my favorite finds.
